History of Character: It is mentioned in the old testament that women keep their heads covered. One reason for this is so that the angels of God would not see them and want to be with the daughters of Man because of their beauty. As in the case of Aelis' parents, her mother was human who did not heed her father's warnings. One night she went out into the garden of her father's to smell the sweet roses and dalia's that were new there. The moon shone brightly over her creamy blonde hair and it made it look as if she were wearing a halo. Her name was Aelin. Her father was an angel who had happened to be enjoying a night of flight when he saw this light and decided to investigate. His name was Jaelir. He seduced her, though it wasnt hard for she immediately fell, thinking he was human as well. But he had only been with her that one night. Nine months later, she gave birth to Aelis. It was a long and
ardous labor and shortly after Aelis was born and named, Aelin succumbed to her weakness. She had blessed her daughter and prayed to the gods above that Aelis would find her place in the world. Aelis was raised by her grandfather, Kael, and was very sheltered. She obeyed everythign he said without question, even wearing the scarf over her hair. She had her father's eyes and bronze shade as well as her mother's hair and fair face.
She was only 18 when her grandfather passed from complications of the heart, and since then had been on her own to wander the lands. She learned she had powers and worked to control them, though there was no one to teach her.
